Changeing for the best
Young children these days have a totally different view of history then some adults do. As young children we are taught lies about history and misinformed about events and people. Teaching us this is absurd. We should as kids learn about life and its history. We should not grow up and still have the thought that everything was all sugar and sweet. Then as we teach these things to the younger generations they grow and show others these lies. Children should be taught the truth and prepare there minds for when they grow. Of course, it would be inappropriate to teach the violent that has happen. That should be taught as they grow older, but its better then lieing to them and saying it never happen. The way kids are taught should be changed.
The Truth Always Comes Out Sooner or Later.
Everyone has had a negative event occur at least once in there lives before, its only human. It has happened to individuals, groups or even a country. It should not change the fact that learning from and admitting to your wrongs is a way to make you stronger. I don't believe that countries should leave pieces of their history out because it makes them look bad or embarrasses them. They should embrace what they have done and say that they have grown ever since. If it was an act that they have done they should admit what they did was wrong, and if it was an embarrassment then they should admit it and say it will make them stronger. hiding it is only making them look even worse, because they are still trying to make themselves look as if they were good, when they weren't. The truth always comes out eventually and hiding it will make them look like liars and fakes and many will loose the respect they had for them. Therefore, its always better to be straight forward about things instead of being afraid and hiding the truth.
Forgive and Forget.
Slaves were treated like they were beasts. They were not looked at as people, but as another specie below the superior one only because of the color of there skin. The south engaged themselves with trading and buying off slaves as if they, the slaves, were a piece of candy, a candy that later would be chewed up or spit out. Should people be forgiving towards the negative acts that others have committed, especially if it hurts or harms another ? In my opinion no! They shouldn't. Why should someone be forgiven for what they thought was right doings. The south hurt, abused and treated people horribly. They do not know how it felt to be in those kinds of positions. To be away from family, friends and be abused physically, emotionally and mentally. So during the reconstruction the big debate between the south being granted amnesty shouldn't even have been an option. In our society today people are being punished for the wrong things they have committed. So why shouldn't the south ? This event is obviously not one to easily forget and forgive until justice is brought and they realized what they were doing is wrong. Forgiving them and moving on is not always a good thing, because they might not have learned the lesson. People should evaluate themselves and see things for what they really are. Forgive and forget is easier said then done I'm pretty sure we can all agree with that. But the harm they have caused to real life, breathing humans is unacceptable and they should not get away with it.

Stereotype is ignorance, And ignorance is not an excuse :)
If you were glasses you're a nerd. If your Spanish you play soccer. If your from California you surf. If someone is from a certain place your not from that makes them selfish, load, or even impatient. These are all stereotypes and I've heard them all before. Its obvious to say that people make wild observations about someone just because of what they wear, who they are, and where they're from.
Assumptions are widespread and known because people lack the knowledge of an individual and counts them as a whole. To some people, image is what makes a person. In my opinion I would have to say that people make generalizations because they are not in that person's shoes. They have know idea who that person is and how he or she lives there lives. Obviously, you will not know every person you see or run into, but it doesn't make it right to think something about them just because of what you see in there outside. In an individual's point of view, others different from them are not "normal" because they don't dress like them, they don't talk like them and they are not from were they are from. Stereotypes are people misinformed, or simply they just do not know the person. That's just ignorance and it not an excuse to label people. Everyone needs to have a clear, open mind. They need to realize that every specific individual is unique in there own way.

Do You Matter ?
History is a part of us today whether we like it or not. Asking ourselves does history matter is like asking yourself if you, yourself matter ? The answer, in my opinion, is YES! it does matter. Why ? Because of history we are who we are today, whether its your life's history or the worlds history. History helps us find solutions to problems we have had before in the past. history repeats itself, first as tragedy, second as farce (Marx). history really does repeat itself and it has. First it would be a tragedy and if it happens again that means no one has learned from the first time so it would have to be a farce the second time. history matters because it's very important to learn about the past, to be informed about the challenges we have come across or will need to defeat later on. Because of history we grow, imagine if you didn't know were you came from and what you are all about, you would be lost. That's why history guides us and with the knowledge we have we can one, become stronger as a nation and individual and two, past our history tests :)
Saying Yes To Lies.
In my opinion history is a lie that people agree with because they either do not know any better, or simply they refuse to believe what is true. My prediction is that because people are taught one thing by a teacher or someone older, they decide to agree and believe what ever that teacher or adult is saying. the people who are agreeing with them wouldn't know any better because they have no were else to turn. Even if they look in a history book or ask another professor ,who majors in history, they might have been taught these "lies" also. So because they , the teachers, agree with it its most likely that those who they are teaching well agree with it as-well. So as the student who are being taught these lies will grow and teach others. Therefore, it would become a chain of people agreeing with what they think is true. That is when the quote "History is the lie commonly agreed upon." said by Voltaire comes into play. Know I'm in this class were the teacher is telling us the "truth" about what really happened in history. But, I stop to think.. how do i even now if the "truth" that i am being taught isn't just more lies ? I guess will never really no what happened in our history unless we actually lived through it.
